Our Classes

Our Ballroom and Latin American classes focus on the traditional 10 dances: Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Tango, Viennese Waltz (Ballroom) and Cha Cha, Jive, Samba, Rumba and Paso Doble (Latin American). We cater for all ability levels and whether you want to pick up a few steps for an important social occasion or sweep the trophies at competitions we’ve got something for you!

Beginner

If you have never danced any ballroom or Latin in your life or if you are looking to brush up your basics this is the class for you. It will cover the “Core 4” dances: Waltz, Quickstep (Ballroom), Cha Cha and Jive (Latin).

Tuesday 6-7 pm
Quaker Studio (Pleasance)

Novice

This class will further develop the Core 4 dances, teaching routines that are restricted syllabus and suitable for competitions. It will also start to develop your dancing technique. At least 1 year of experience is recommended in Latin or Ballroom

Friday 7:15-8:15 pm

Extension

For anybody wanting to give other dances a go. Most suited to Novices and confident Continuing Beginners. The class will teach foxtrot, tango, Viennese waltz, samba, rumba and paso doble

Monday 5pm-6pm
Upper Hall (Pleasance)

Continuing Beginner Tuesday

For people who have completed a term of Beginners, or have done a year of ballroom elsewhere, this class will consolidate and build on the steps and technique you have learned before.

Tuesday 7-8 pm

Continuing Beginner Friday

For people who have completed a term of Beginners, or have done a year of ballroom elsewhere, this class will consolidate and build on the steps and technique you have learned before.

Friday 8:15-9:15 pm
Quaker Studio (Pleasance)

Intermediate and above

This class will teach open choreography and focus more heavily on technique. At least 2 or 3 years of experience are recommended
