EUBDS Dancesport

Dancesport is competitive ballroom and Latin dancing.
We compete at university and open circuit competitions across the UK.

COMPETITIONS

EUBDS is a competitive society and regularly attends competitions, both in Scotland and in England. This type of competitive ballroom and Latin American dancing is known as ‘Dancesport’. We compete mainly on the university circuit against other university societies, but plenty of our couples dance on the open circuit too.

Check out our Team Guide for an introduction to competing as part of the EUBDS team!

Inter-Varsity Dancesport Association (IVDA)

The IVDA is the national body reponsible for university dancesport. As a member of EUBDS, you are automatically a member of IVDA and NUDA (the Northern Universities Dancesport Association). The competitions are open to both students and ex-students and are split in to categories according to level.

Open Circuit

The open circuit is separate to the university circuit, and includes all ages and backgrounds. Competitions are typically held on Sundays, and to be eligible to enter you would usually have to be a member of Dancesport Scotland or the British Dance Council. Dancesport Scotland runs four competitions a year in Scotland, and our couples always do well.
